It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that our amazing dad, husband, son, brother, and friend, Dennis Soto, has been diagnosed with cancer.

Dennis's journey began unexpectedly after he was severed from the job he had dedicated the last eight years of his life to on April 3, 2026. In late February, he had started experiencing difficulty swallowing food which led him to seek medical care from a gastroenterology specialist. After multiple appointments and two upper endoscopies, our family received devastating news on May 11: our dad had cancer. Doctors discovered a tumor in his esophagus—something none of us were prepared to hear.

Since that day, life has been a whirlwind of doctor appointments, blood draws, CT scans, MRIs, PET scans, oncology consultations, and surgery to place a treatment port. As of May 29, doctors have confirmed a primary tumor in his esophagus, cancer in the surrounding lymph nodes, and multiple lesions in his hips and vertebrae.

Dennis now faces an aggressive treatment plan that includes chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation. While we are grateful for the treatment options available, the medical expenses associated with his care are significant, especially after the loss of his employment. We are creating this fundraiser to help ease that financial burden so Dennis can focus his energy where it belongs—on fighting cancer and spending time with the people he loves.

If you know Dennis, you know he is the kind of person who would do anything for anyone. He has spent his life putting others before himself, working tirelessly to provide for his family, supporting his friends, and showing up whenever someone needed a helping hand.

As a dad, Dennis has been a constant source of love, laughter, guidance, and unwavering support. He taught his children the value of hard work, perseverance, and putting family first. Some of his greatest joys come from spending time with his kids—whether he's on the golf course with his son, Tysen, sitting in a deer stand with his daughter, Kassidy, or traveling across the country to cheer on his daughter, Sydnie, at lacrosse games. No matter the distance, time commitment, or sacrifice, Dennis is always there—usually with a Budweiser in hand and a smile on his face.

For his family, Dennis is the foundation they lean on. He is the rock who has always provided strength, stability, encouragement, and unconditional love. His work ethic is unmatched, and his character has shaped the lives of everyone around him.

As a friend, Dennis has never met a stranger. He has a unique ability to make anyone feel welcome, often turning a simple conversation into a friendship. Whether sharing a meal around the Blackstone, offering advice, or simply lending an ear, Dennis has touched countless lives through his kindness, generosity, and selflessness.

Now, as he faces the fight of his life, it is our turn to rally around him and support the man who has spent so many years supporting everyone else.
