James Showalter, age 51, of Winder, GA, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. A Funeral Service will be held at Tabernacle International Church, Lawrenceville, GA, on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM.

James was a devoted follower and lover of Jesus Christ whose faith was the foundation of his life. In his later years, he dedicated much of his time to reading the Bible, growing in God’s Word, and strengthening his relationship with the Lord. His greatest desire was to know Jesus more deeply and to help others come to know Him as well.

James was also a devoted father who deeply loved his three children, Hannah, Seraiah, and Israel. They were among his greatest blessings, and he cherished every moment he spent with them. He was incredibly proud of each of them, faithfully prayed for them, and desired above all else to leave them a lasting legacy of faith in Jesus Christ. His love, guidance, and the memories he created with them will remain in their hearts forever.

James was a hardworking man with an adventurous spirit who embraced life wholeheartedly. He was a man of remarkable strength and resilience, overcoming many hardships throughout his life with perseverance, courage, and an unwavering faith in God. Through every challenge he faced, he remained steadfast, inspiring those around him by never giving up and continuing to trust in the Lord.

James loved the outdoors, especially spending time fishing, where he found peace and joy in God’s creation. He also had a deep love for animals and was always looking for an opportunity to rescue, protect, or care for one in need. His compassionate heart extended not only to people but to all of God’s creation. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need and was known for his selfless heart, generosity, and genuine compassion. Whether meeting someone for the first time or reconnecting with an old friend, James was always eager to share his testimony of God’s grace and faithfulness in his life. Through his testimony and unwavering faith, he led many people to Jesus Christ, leaving an eternal impact on the lives of those he encountered. His kindness, encouragement, servant’s heart, and steadfast devotion to God touched countless lives.
