Denise, my sister, is facing a challenging road ahead with both back and neck surgeries. She’s been dealing with ongoing pain and mobility issues, and her doctors have determined that surgery is the only way forward. The first step will be back surgery, and once she’s recovered enough, she’ll need neck surgery as well. It’s a lot for anyone to handle, and Denise has shown incredible strength and resilience throughout this process.

Even with insurance, there are still significant out-of-pocket expenses. Denise will have to cover co-pays, assistive devices that aren’t covered, and physical therapy to help her regain strength. She’ll also be off work for several months, and unfortunately, she isn’t able to collect disability benefits. That means she’ll need help with essential living expenses like rent, utilities, and transportation while she recovers. Our family is doing everything we can to support her, but it’s not enough to cover all the costs and ensure she can focus on healing.
