Hello, my name is Denise Jones-Gibbs. I am known to many as the StrawBerry Fairy. I am
now the proud owner and operator of FairyLand Adornments, an events decoration and
more company. We do everything, event planning, event design, event execution and event
break down and clean-up, we also offer gift baskets & gifts. We make it so the host can
remain present at their event the entire time and not worry about any aspects of their
event.
I have two goals for my company. The first is to host my company’s first event, which will
also serve as my company’s launch and introduction to the world, showing prospective
customers, firsthand, the services I will be offering. This will also build my network. My
second goal is to acquire a commercial building, with a kitchen and a parking lot. The
building will be used to host my own events, rent out to others to host their events, have
onsite bakery services for my baked sweets and a parking lot.
I have been baking up sweet treats since 2008, under my business name The StrawBerry
Fairy, on Instagram StrawBerry Fairy35. In 2020 (yes, the dreaded times) Fairyland
Adornments was born and survived. Recently, I took the steps to make FairyLand
Adornments official (LLC). All the while I have been running my business from home, but it
is so much it has taken over! It is time for me to invest in a property with a kitchen and a
parking lot. I will use this property to host my own events, rent out to others to host their
events and bake and serve my sweet, delicious treats on-site. I have burned out several
residential stove ovens, baking at the rate I bake. I also plan to offer baking classes for
adults and kids, baking camps for kids and event decoration classes (classes would be
held in the main ballroom).
Back to my first goal, the event. The event is an Adult Sneaker Ball Prom. It is a Prom
experience for adults Who says the kids get to have all the fun! It will be a star-studded
evening, who are the stars you ask…. You, you are the stars. Adults get to dress up in the
best formal attire, with the bonus of wearing your best sneakers instead of dress shoes.
Ensuring guests will be comfy and cozy all night, no sore toes at this event! There are two
rooms, the Main ballroom and Presidential lounge (VIP). Guests will enjoy champagne wall
(upon entry), happy hour, appetizers, sweet table and photos. That will be followed by
dinner service, bar service, more photos, King & Queen crowning
and Event Swag Bag. The VIP section will have happy hour from 8pm to 9pm, Cigar bar from
7pm to 9pm, 1-hour open bar from 10pm to 11pm and live band.
I am asking for donations to help me raise $7000.00 in funds. The fund will be used to
secure an event venue, pay for entertainment, food, drinks, prizes, swag bags, party
decorations, party supplies, party equipment rentals and pay staff. Any additional fundsraised will go to the procurement of my own property, where I will host and rent out for
events.
