Support Denise Thomas's Road to Recovery

My name is Adrianne and I have created this GoFundMe on behalf of my mother, Denise Thomas. On Nov 1st, while visiting me in Italy, she had a fall that resulted in breaking her C5-C7 vertebrae. She spent a month in a hospital in Italy, had two surgeries, and remained in intensive care before we were able to transfer her back to the US.

Denise is currently still in intensive care as there were complications which have compromised her breathing as well as infections on top of this life-changing accident. She is unable to speak and currently needs a ventilator to support her breathing.

My mom is only 63 years old and is very active with her church group, has a group of friends she enjoyed going on cruises with, on top of visiting her children who live in Italy, Canada, Ohio, and Virginia. She is also a NICU nurse for the past 40 years, working at Children's National Medical Center.

The road to recovery is going to be a long one, both mentally and physically. This fundraiser is to help offset current and future medical costs and we appreciate any and all support.
