To those of you reading my story, I'll do my best to express what has transpired. On March 3, 2026, my best friend and husband of over 30 years, James Collins, was taken by ambulance to Bear Valley Hospital in Big Bear Lake, CA, after a restless night of discomfort. Within just two hours of leaving my side, I received the heartbreaking news from the hospital that James had passed away. The only comfort I can find is that he went quickly, but the shock is overwhelming—James was in relatively good health, and we were completely unprepared for his sudden and premature departure.
Over the years, James and I faced many challenges together. After experiencing limited success, we unfortunately lost multiple properties and our business. We could no longer afford life insurance premiums, so there is no safety net to fall back on. Now, after having two Social Security accounts that barely covered our needs, I have been informed that I must somehow get by on just one. The loss of James has left a tremendous void in my life, and now I am faced with the daunting task of managing everything he used to take care of, all while our finances have been reduced to almost nothing.
I am reaching out in hopes that those who are able might offer any assistance—whether it be financial support, a kind thought, or a prayer. Your generosity, in any form, would mean the world to me as I navigate this difficult time. If you can't give, I completely understand and would still appreciate a simple smile or a moment of kindness. Thank you for reading my story and for any support you can provide.
