Hello! My name is Denis Cha, I’m a senior Film Studies major at Wesleyan University raising money for my senior film thesis, “Clusterf*ck.”

What an interesting title, you say? Well, it’s also an interesting short film! Here’s an interesting description: “After an argument, a boy journeys to win back his friend by gifting him the one thing that will repair their friendship: a bag of uneaten Nerds Gummy Clusters.”

The film takes place over the span of one night, in which 17-year-old Peter searches for his friend after he walks away from their seemingly unserious argument. It is a comedy rooted in the importance of friendship and the fear of growing up. The events Peter experiences teach him the duality of what it means to be alone, as well as the bravery that camaraderie fosters.

As a senior filmmaker, this thesis is a full-circle moment. It’s the product of four years of film lectures and a 12-minute ode to both the end of boyhood, the joys of being a student filmmaker, and the emerging adulthood that waits for both Peter and Grayson, and myself as graduation grows nearer.

As important as this film is to me, the funds will go towards the people I couldn’t make this without: my cast and crew. They say it takes a village, but it really just takes their money! In all seriousness, this film takes place overnight, so we’re going to have to work some pretty late hours while filming, and I would love nothing more than being able to supply my team with enough food and caffeine for us to make this project happen. My producers said I’m not allowed to rob a store like the robber in my thesis and because of this, we are politely asking you to donate!
