I'm Denali Joel—a queer, Black, nonbinary trans artist and immigrant. After 10 years in the U.S., the hostile political climate has left me fighting for survival at every intersection of my identity. I'm choosing to seek refuge outside of the US, to reclaim safety, creativity, and belonging. I need urgent support to leave in the coming weeks.
My Story:
I've lived a life shaped by migration, resilience, and art. Fleeing political persecution in Jamaica, I rebuilt my life in the U.S., only to face systemic violence, isolation, and constant struggle. After countless personal and professional losses, I'm choosing to start again—not as a self-made individual, but as someone open to being made by community.
I dream of a future where I create from a place of possibility, not survival. This journey is a radical act of self-determination, a way of saying my body deserves to live.

I've already begun consolidating my life, selling clothes, and taking on freelance work—but I can't do this alone. Please support by donating or sharing my story.
