Support Demetria Taylor's Healing Journey

Hello Fans, Family, and friends of Demetria Taylor. Our girl needs our help. If you’ve had the gift of seeing her perform live, listened to her recordings, or in my case, know her sweet humble self personally, then you know she is a kind heart who loves the Blues, loves performing, and is a true and loyal friend. She would never do crowdfunding on her own behalf. In fact, she has kept her medical condition to herself for a solid year. I think it’s time to open up and let the love in.

Demetria has been fighting a disease called sarcoidosis for over 20 years. And on Jan 13, 2025, her condition worsened, which resulted in her being hospitalized for the past 7 weeks. She’s gotten through the worst and is in physical therapy to re-learn how to stand with complete balance. The disease has affected the left side of her brain, and so when she stands or holds something in her left hand, it shakes! This is hard! I’m speaking on Sarcoidosis awareness! It’s going to be a long recovery, but her prognosis is good.

Demetria’s journey has hit some huge obstacles lately. She suffered a mild stroke last July and she has been sick ever since. She has not performed and has kept it private, limited to her deepest of inner circles because in this business, sickness can be an unfair blow to one’s work life. It’s all about perception, and we artists tend to think of how things will affect our future earning potential to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads. But that worry tends to make it a solitary journey. I’ve been there. I know the love she will receive from the community will be a practical and spiritual balm.
