HELP THE MEMPHIS WATER GUY: A COMMUNITY THAT POURS BACK!
Supporting Demarcus Dickerson and The Memphis Dehydration Station
Sometimes the people who give the most are the very people who need someone to give back to them.
If you’ve ever driven through the streets of Memphis, Tennessee, you may have encountered a hardworking young man known throughout the community as “The Memphis Water Guy.” His name is Demarcus Dickerson, and his mission is simple: keep Memphis hydrated, serve people with kindness, and earn an honest living.
Day after day, Demarcus has shown up with bottled water, Gatorade, and other refreshments. Through his initiative, The Memphis Dehydration Station, he has become a familiar face and an example of determination, entrepreneurship, and community service.
But recently, his journey took an unexpected turn.
On October 6, 2026, Demarcus was arrested following an encounter with law enforcement concerning his beverage-selling activities. The charges were subsequently dismissed, but the experience brought attention to the challenges faced by individuals who are simply trying to build something positive for themselves.
We refuse to let this moment define his future. Instead, we want it to become the beginning of something greater.
A Community Coming Together
Bishop Dr. Gregory D. Stapleton, Jr., Founder and CEO of Crazy Faith Community Development Corporation, along with Mr. Ben Owens and community supporters, is helping Demarcus take the next steps toward greater stability and independence.
One major blessing is already underway: an effort to provide Demarcus with a vehicle!
However, the vehicle needs mechanical attention before it can become reliable transportation.
That’s where you come in.
What Your Donations Will Support
Our goal is to help Demarcus move beyond surviving day to day and begin building a sustainable future.
Funds raised are intended to assist with:
* Vehicle repairs and transportation: Getting his vehicle inspected, repaired, and road-ready.
* Business development: Supporting registration, licensing, permits, and other requirements for The Memphis Dehydration Station.
* Equipment and supplies: Purchasing water, beverages, coolers, and materials needed for his operation.
* Business stability: Helping Demarcus establish a safer, more sustainable way to serve customers.
* Personal financial support: Providing assistance as he works toward greater independence.
This Is More Than a Fundraiser
This is about giving a hardworking man an opportunity.
This is about showing Demarcus that Memphis sees him, values him, and believes in his future.
This is about transforming a difficult chapter into a testimony of what can happen when a community comes together.
Imagine what we can accomplish if everyone who has ever purchased a bottle of water from Demarcus, encouraged him, shared his story, or admired his determination decided to give something back.
No donation is too small. Every dollar represents another step toward stability, opportunity, and a brighter future.
Our Commitment
This fundraising effort is solely for the benefit of Demarcus Dickerson.
All proceeds from this GoFundMe campaign will be given directly to Demarcus Dickerson to support his transportation, business development, and personal advancement.
Crazy Faith Community Development Corporation and its community partners are supporting this initiative because we believe that community development begins with investing in people.
We aren’t simply trying to help Demarcus sell another bottle of water.
We’re trying to help him build a future where he can own his business, expand his opportunities, and continue making a difference.
Memphis, It’s Our Turn to Pour Back!
Today, we’re asking you to stand with Demarcus.
Donate what you can. Share this campaign. Encourage a friend to contribute. Help us turn compassion into meaningful action.
He has spent his days helping keep Memphis hydrated. Now it’s time for Memphis and supporters everywhere to help keep his dream alive.
With gratitude,
Bishop Dr. Gregory D. Stapleton, Jr.
