I am reaching out with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit. My brother, Delton, has recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Delton, who is 9 years older than me, has always been the coolest influence on my life, from music suggestions to sharing philosophical and psychological ideas, my admiration for him radiates. He’s been stubborn at times but is always resilient and strong—a great protector who helped care for me from when I was a baby into my adult years. Delton has also been an amazing father to his own two children, who are now newly adults themselves. Our family’s lives have changed dramatically since his diagnosis with this incredibly aggressive cancer. The most painful part, of course, has been for Delton, especially with the tumor pressing on a nerve causing extreme physical pain.

Unfortunately, Delton is currently between insurance coverages, which has added an immense financial burden to an already difficult situation. He is unable to work due to his illness and the demanding treatment schedule, which means he is struggling to cover essential expenses. We are doing everything we can to support him through this challenging time. Our aunts and his family have been generous in helping him fight this privately, however, he just completed his second round of chemotherapy in what will be a long treatment plan.
