Our hearts are shattered beyond words. Early this morning, my beloved grandson Delquan was tragically taken from us. We were distraught to learn that someone he knew took his life while he was asleep. This devastating loss was sudden and unexpected, and our family is struggling to make sense of a this or what’s next for us.

Delquan was loved, cherished.

He was smart, funny and kind. He took on his role of being the older brother and wore it like a badge of honor. His loss has left an irreplaceable void in our family.

Recently, Delquan became a father to a beautiful newborn baby boy, a moment he was deeply proud of. His time as a parent was far too short, but his love for his son will live on through all of us.

As we grieve this unimaginable tragedy, we are faced not only with funeral expenses, but also the cost of transporting Delquan from Missouri back to Davenport so he can be laid to rest with dignity and surrounded by family. This financial burden is heavy and unexpected, and we humbly ask for help during this time.
