Help Us Care for My Mom, Delores Sanders-Adler

Hello, my name is Tamara, and I am reaching out on behalf of my beloved mom, Delores Sanders-Adler. As many of you may know, last Thanksgiving, while visiting us here in Liberty Hill, TX, Mom went into respiratory failure due to her COPD and emphysema. She spent nearly two months in the hospital and a specialty facility before we managed to bring her back to Dallas in early 2024. Despite the setbacks, her resilience has been inspiring.

In April, after another hospitalization and a poor prognosis, she entered hospice. However, circumstances surrounding her care led us to bring her back to my home in Liberty Hill in May. Since then, she’s shown some improvement, but daily care has become financially overwhelming. Medicare provides only limited hospice support, and my mom’s Social Security barely covers a fraction of the $4,000–$5,000 monthly cost for the home health care she needs.

My husband and I both work outside the home, so a full-time caregiver is essential—and well beyond our means. I humbly reach out now, asking for help to cover these essential care expenses so that we can ensure my mom’s comfort, dignity, and health.
