Hello Everyone!
Our daughter, Delaney, was born very prematurely at 25 weeks old. She weighed 1p 0.9oz and was 10" long. She has battled multiple things along the way like Chronic Lung Disease, 3 separate rounds of Pneumonia, multiple blood transfusions, ROP eye disease, and various other issues from not being fully developed when she was born. Due to her lungs being underdeveloped and intubated with a breathing tube for so long, Delaney had to have a Tracheostomy tube and Gastrointestinal Tube surgically placed. She is now Trach, Gtube, and Ventilator dependent. This means that Delaney has to have someone physically watching her 24/7, 365 days because her trach can get plugged by mucus and need to be manually suctioned with a suction machine or require oxygen through her ventilator. For the last 6.5 months we have spent traveling to multiple hospitals every day to visit her. It was a very long and hard 200 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
By God's grace, as of July 9th, Delaney is finally home! While we are beyond excited and very blessed that she is home, it is way more of a challenge than bringing home a normal newborn. Delaney needs eyes on care 24/7. While her dad, Nate, has been back at work her care has fallen on to me, her mom, and her 2 Grandmas that take the night shifts. Unfortunately, since we do not qualify for any state assistance, we are unable to get Delaney in home nursing care at this time. The reason we are creating this go fund me page is to try and fundraise some money for us to pay out of pocket for private duty nursing since our insurance won't cover it. As well to help with her medical bills while she was in the NICU for so long. While we do not expect to reach this goal, anything will help. We greatly appreciate any sort of contribution in being able to provide Delaney with the medical care she needs.
Thank you and God Bless,
Emily, Nate, and Delaney
