Support Del Campo Jr Cougars After Devastating Fireworks Theft
On the morning of June 30, 2025, tragedy struck our community. The Del Campo Jr Cougars Youth Football and Cheer organization—an all-volunteer, nonprofit program dedicated to building strong, confident, and resilient young athletes—was the victim of a heartbreaking crime.
Our seasonal fireworks booth, our biggest annual fundraiser and a cornerstone of our ability to provide a safe, structured, and affordable sports program, was broken into overnight, and our entire inventory—valued at over $34,000—was stolen. Not only do we have to figure out a way to pay back the stolen inventory, but we also lose out on all the fundraising money earned by selling the fireworks to support our organization throughout the year.
This devastating loss affects more than just equipment and dollars. It directly impacts the 120+ children who count on our program each season to stay active, build life skills, and be part of something bigger than themselves. Every dollar raised from this booth goes toward:
Field rentals and equipment
Uniforms and football gear
Cheer camp costs
Ability to provide funding for families in need
Insurance, safety, and league fees
Transportation and operational costs
As a nonprofit organization, we do not receive public funding. We rely almost entirely on donations, fundraising events like the fireworks booth, and the generosity of our community. Losing this inventory so close to the 4th of July—when all our sales typically happen—has left us with a massive financial hole and just weeks before our season starts.
We are asking for your help to recover from this loss. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to staying in operation and ensuring that our kids don’t suffer because of the actions of a few. Our goal is to raise $34,000 to replace the stolen funds so we can continue to serve our young athletes without interruption.
Please consider sharing this page and donating if you can. The Del Campo Jr Cougars have always been about community, teamwork, and heart—and right now, we need our community more than ever.
Thank you for standing with us and our kids.
