Support Dejreem's Brave Fight Against Brain Cancer

Dejreem Roswess has always been a happy and healthy child. He loves playing soccer with his older brother Dejore and he plays three times per week. Unfortunately, his life changed in March of 2025. His mom Nakeesh noticed that he started to drag his right leg while walking. He was subsequently misdiagnosed by two doctors, one diagnosed him with a leg length discrepancy, the other diagnosed him with cerebral palsy.

His mom did not believe what these doctors said, so she continued her search for answers. After two weeks of searching, finally, a pediatrician discovered the truth. Nakeesh heard the words no mom wants to hear, "your child has a brain tumor, which was one third of his head." He was rushed to surgery after the discovery where the neurosurgeon was able to remove 80% of the tumor. The other 20% was deemed inoperable due to its location deep in the brain. Since then Dejreem has done a total of 3 surgeries. He has had to do multiple forms of therapy like physical and occupational therapy etc. He is currently admitted in the hospital and in the ICU because he has now been diagnosed with a gram negative rods bacteria. It started in the cerebral spinal fluid area and has spread to his blood.

His medical care team has recommended that he gets 14 months of chemotherapy, followed by an additional surgery. However this plan is not set in stone because he has had to have two emergency surgeries in the past week.

Nakeesh is a single mom of 4 and a teacher. Since Dejreem’s diagnosis she has been out of work a lot to take care of him and her own health is now deteriorating. She has had to take leave without pay at this time. With medical bills mounting and the uncertainty of the situation, financial support is needed.

Any support you can offer will help ease the financial burden, allow Nakeesh a bit of time off work to care for Dejreem and attend to her own mental and emotional well-being so she can remain strong for her child during this challenging journey.

Your generosity can make a meaningful difference. Every donation and prayer, no matter the size, brings comfort, hope, and the ability to focus on what matters most: Dejreem’s care .
