My name is Dejonte Campbell, a student from Pace High, and I’m reaching out with hope in my heart and a dream in my soul.

I’m the son of a courageous immigrant woman who came to America in 2020 with nothing but determination and love for her children. My mother left everything behind in search of a better future for me and my siblings. Since then, she has worked not one, but two jobs day and night just to keep food on the table and help me stay in school. Her strength is what drives me every single day.

I’ve always believed that education is the key to breaking the cycle of struggle, and I’ve worked hard in school despite the challenges we’ve faced. From navigating a new country to learning in a new environment, it hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced moments of doubt, financial stress, and uncertainty about the future but I’ve never stopped believing in the power of resilience and education.

Now, I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to go to college to pursue a career in Electrical Engineering, something I’ve dreamed about for years. But as excited as I am, financial barriers are standing in the way. My mother has done everything she can, but college costs are far beyond what she can afford on her own.

That’s why I’m humbly asking for your help.
