Support Deirdra's Fight for a Healthy Heart

Hello Family, Friends, and maybe strangers! My name is Deirdra. I am a mother of three beautiful children. I have been doing the mom thing for nearly five years alone. I've been a healthcare worker for the last 8 years.

In July, while at work, I suffered a syncopal episode. Before this, I was suffering from what I believed was vertigo. It, in fact, was not vertigo but the beginnings of a journey to figure out what was wrong with my heart. At this time, I was diagnosed with a minor heart condition and sent as a precautionary measure to a cardiologist. At this appointment, I was ordered more testing, a Holter monitor, and a cardiac echo. Everything looked great. But I was still having these episodes, with increased shortness of breath, minimal activity, and increased dizziness. I had chest discomfort and met with my cardiologist again in January. At this time, my EKG had changed. I was experiencing heart rate fluctuations anywhere from 40 all the way to 150/160s. I had multiple EKGs that stated a septal infarction, which had never happened before January. My cardiologist ordered an NM stress test, which I recently found out was also abnormal. I am now fighting with my insurance to get a left heart cath. I have a $3,000 deductible and frankly, with today’s economy, I can’t pay that upfront. I can try to make payment arrangements, but I still have bills to pay and children to feed.

My procedure hasn’t been scheduled yet, due to insurance authorization.

So basically, I'm just looking to reduce the stress of getting this money together. I want answers, I want to get better: I want to clean my house without needing multiple breaks. I want to dance again without getting exhausted and winded. I want to walk up stairs without wanting to faint. I want to live the life I worked so hard to create.

I just received a date for my heart cath, it will be on March 6, 2025!

Update:  today is over!! My arm is killing me!! But doctor said….minimal day to the heart, no need for stent!!! Reduce my stress levels, eat better and use small exercise. I feel good and that’s what matters 

I’ll be closing this out soon, cause hopefully it’s almost figured out!!

3/25 is follow up and we shall see!!!
