We are organizing this fundraiser to ask community to come together to help our amazing friend Dee. As so many of us know, an incredible person, warrior, protector of the land and water passed away suddenly on October 21st- Liam Henyu. We lost a friend and family, but Dee also lost their partner. Dee has been organizing Liam's memorial in Vancouver and then bringing their ashes to special places all month.

This grief is enormous. Liam and Dee had been planning on staying in Vancouver over the winter before heading back up North to Wet'suwet'en territory. Dee and Liam had been homeless since July. We have finally found Dee a place to live. The rental begins on December 15th, with the requirement of a damage deposit on December 1st.

We want to see our friend housed somewhere they are surrounded by friends and community, somewhere they can heal, rest and grieve. This is long-term, stable housing in Vancouver, which is so rare to find. We hope to bring in enough money through donations to cover rent up until February, so Dee has time to rest and figure out other income sources.
