Hi, my name is Beth and have been friends with Dee since we were coworkers in NJ.

Our friendship has stood the test of time and miles between us!

Dee’s health issues began in 2015. Liver disease, internal bleeds, diabetes, various skin cancers & most recently, hepatic encephalopathy caused by liver issues.. this affects cognitive ability.

The family has dealt with frequent hospitalizations, infusions, radiation, frequent dr visits, sometimes 3 times a week, shunt placements in Dee's liver, frequent CT scans, ultrasounds, chemo meds.

Dee is now looking at an embolization procedure to hopefully eliminate enlarge veins in the esophagus to prevent further bleeding.

Dee's medicines are approx 100,000 a year. Some of these meds are not covered.

She requires many wound care items which are all out of pocket as well.

The family has struggled as of late putting more of a burden on them as well.

Mick and Dee’s situation is a stark reminder of the financial struggles many are in.
