This is a legal entity, separate from Dee, that preserves her eligibility for Medicaid and other government benefits while allowing friends to offer financial gifts.

The trust's terms & conditions mandate that funds be used to support Dee's health & wellbeing. That is, the trustee is legally required to use these funds to support Dee!

Funds will go towards: rent, food, utilities, in-home care, various medical services, and whatever else is needed so that Dee can live a comfortable, dignified life.

Dee's care needs will escalate over time. While Medicaid will cover some of these costs, substantial gaps will still need to be filled.

In the event of an overage to the trust fund, Dee has asked for leftover funds to go towards the Dee Campanella scholarship at UT Austin (more on this, soon!).
