This week, Dee Chavez tragically lost her husband of twenty years. Steve was her soulmate from the very beginning and the two shared many beautiful adventures until his short battle with cancer ended on Wednesday April 9, 2025.

This fundraiser was set up by people who love Dee to ensure she can cover costs related to Steve's passing and not need to worry about maintaining her rent and bills without Steve's income while she is grieving. In addition to mourning Steve's passing, Dee also lost her beloved cat Scruggly last week.

This Saturday 4/12, Dee will be making Steve's favorite spaghetti recipe for a picnic at his favorite park, Ray and Judy Tretheway Oak Preserve (Natomas Oaks), around noon. People who knew Steve are welcome to join to celebrate his life and grieve with his community.
