On Friday, September 5th, my nephew Declan was involved in a head-on collision with a semi-truck. He is currently facing a long road to recovery — without the safety net of medical insurance. Alongside the challenges of healing, he is also coping with the heartbreaking loss of his loyal dog, Jackie, who was his constant companion.

If you know Declan, you know what a sweet, caring, and fun person he is. He’s the kind of person people are drawn to — personable, easy to be around, and always ready with a smile or a laugh. Declan loves the outdoors; if he isn’t with his friends or family, you’ll find him hunting, fishing, or exploring nature.

Right now, instead of being outside doing what he loves, he’s in the hospital beginning a tough healing journey. The financial burden of medical bills, recovery expenses, and time away from work is overwhelming.
