My name is Laura and I am Declan's Aunt and Brianne's Sister.

Last week, Declan was diagnosed with leukemia and will begin his treatments this week to fight and beat this disease.

Anyone who knows Declan knows his love for all things musicals and performing. This has been devastating to all of us and to know what he will be going through and the stress his parents have and will endure throughout this long journey is heartbreaking.

In the words of Brianne:

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever have to write the following words. Last week, Declan, our sweet, bright, shiny, musical loving boy, was diagnosed with leukemia. To say we are going through the unimaginable is an understatement. We’re not okay right now, but we will be. Today is day 1 of a very long journey. Overall, Declan is in good spirits. As you can probably imagine, he has all the nurses smitten. He knows he will rise up and defeat this. He’s already counting down the days until he can ring the bell. He was singing Hamilton as he was being wheeled into the room where it happens for his procedures this morning.
