Hi friends and family! Im looking to raise $20,000 to help my little buddy Declan’s medical bills get covered. We understand if you are unable to donate, but other ways to help out is by donating blood or plasma through American Red Cross. Please Keep Declan and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Here is more to his story:

On August 16, 2025, my best friend Alexandra, Her single mother (Michelle), and 8 year old brother (Declan), were transferred from Mary Washington Hospital to VCU PICU by ambulance. Initially, the concern was due to pleural effusion (Fluid around his heart and lungs). This was a especially concerning due to his Heart surgery the year prior.

On August 17, 2025, at roughly 2:00am, the doctors at VCU diagnosed Declan with T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma (an aggressive form of cancer). To everyone's shock, the doctors confirmed the fluid around his chest was due to a large mass on his thymus.

This diagnosis is saddening to Declan’s family, but especially for Declan himself! Unfortunately, Declan was only able to complete 3 days of his 3rd grade year before becoming extremely sick. Due to Declan’s chemotherapy, he will not be able to attend school for a minimum of 9 months. While VCU offers schooling in the hospital and Stafford County provides homeschooling, Declan is still missing out on the social connection with his classmates.

As mentioned before, Michelle is a single mother. Unfortunately, she is no longer able to work, as she must primarily care for Declan, including making an hour-long drive to VCU from Fredericksburg once a week for his chemo treatments.
