Support Debra Brown's Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
For nearly her entire life, Debra Brown has been involved with the Amarillo Club. Debra's mother worked in "The Grille", what we now call Club 30, for 18 years. Eventually, both of her parents were employed by the Club as custodians and often Debra would accompany them. Debra began working at the Club full time in 2005 and is currently our longest tenured employee.
Recently Debra was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. This devastating news has burdened Debra with a hardship no one is ever prepared for. Debra has met with two different oncologists and has a consultation with her surgeon scheduled for June 10th. With the unknown on the horizon, we want to make sure Debra is covered financially so she can focus her strength on beating this awful disease rather than stressing about making ends meet. We are asking for donations to help cover medical expenses as well as everyday expenses. Debra will most likely be out of work for an extended period of time and we want to make sure she is well taken care of.
When asked about her time here at the Amarillo Club, Debra says, "I've been with the Amarillo Club for nearly 20 years and it has been such a great place to work. Through the years I have enjoyed getting to know so many members on a personal level and the community I have here is like a second family to me. It makes me sad to think about the faces I will miss as I begin treatment."
We appreciate any donations you are able to give and if you see Debra around make sure to give her some words of encouragement. We love you Debra, you are not alone in this fight!
