On January 30th 2026 my twin sister Debra Ann Hayes decided walk out to check her snail mail box. In a split second her life changed. The ground was frozen solid. The ice build up was like concrete. She fell face first and realized she could not move a muscle. The only thing she could do was pray and pray she did.
God moved fast that day. Our neighbors saw Debra fall. What a blessing. They called the ambulance and waited with her.
The neighbor knocked on the front door came in a called for me. He gave me Debra's clothes that had been cut off and Addison her dog.
He said she hurt pretty bad . She was taken to Smyth County Hospital.
Today is April 16, 2026. She has come a very long way but still has a long road to go. Her insurance is paying some but not near enough. I am asking for family, friends, coaches, x student, fellow teachers, pastors and people young and old to make a donation toward her medical expenses.
