Hi, my name is Alexis, and I am fundraising for my mom, Deborah Hrusko, who recently underwent an emergency triple bypass heart surgery. Her recovery has been much harder and longer than we ever expected.
❤️ What Happened
A little over a week ago, my mom had a triple bypass surgery. Since then, she has faced several complications, including:
• Difficulty with breathing and sudden shortness of breath
• Episodes of atrial fibrillation (irregular heart rhythm)
• Very low blood pressure
• Tingling and numbness in her arm
• Extreme fatigue and weakness
• Trouble walking without becoming severely winded
Even though her breathing is slowly improving, she still struggles daily. Her body is exhausted, she still has chest bandages, and simple tasks like standing up or walking leave her completely worn out.
Rehab & Recovery
Doctors want her in rehab, but she may only be allowed to stay for one week, and that isn’t nearly enough time for someone as weak and unstable as she currently is. She still needs help walking, still has AFib episodes, and is far from being able to care for herself independently.
Once she leaves rehab, she will need:
• Ongoing medical care
• Follow-up appointments
• Medications
• Transportation
• Home support
All of this comes with overwhelming costs.
Why We Need Help
Our family is doing everything we can, but the medical bills, rehab costs, time off work, and upcoming appointments are more than we can manage alone. My mom has always been the strongest person I know, and seeing her struggle like this is heartbreaking.
Any amount—no matter how small—will help support her recovery and relieve some of the financial stress during one of the hardest times in our lives.
