Support Deborah After Tragic House Fire
Donation protected
On May 11th, 2025 - Mother’s Day - my sister Deborah Fielder-Cobbs lost her home and almost her life to a horrible fire. Her and her son were inside the home asleep when an electrical fire broke out at 10:30pm from an enclosure for their dogs on the front porch.
Deb was awoken by smoke and saw an orange glow around the front door, when she opened the door flames were everywhere. She rushed to wake up her son and they had minutes to flee the home. They were trapped because they could not go out the door, so her son had to break a window and jump out onto broken glass and then pull Deb out of the window where she fell on top of him, breaking her fall.
She heard a cat screaming, which was trapped inside the Catio that was attached to the home, her son ripped the Catio apart and Deb reached in to pull Echo to safety. The dogs were able to flee, but she was only able to save 1 of her 4 cats, a devastating loss.
For almost 20 years our family owned The Bargain Shop, a thrift store in our local town. We helped many people in the community when affected by disasters like this, natural or otherwise, and they were welcome to take whatever they needed at no cost. We no longer have that store due to Covid, but right now it would really be nice if we still did!
Our family is reaching out and asking for any assistance or any support you would be willing or able to give to get Deb back into a home. I really appreciate you taking the time to read this and God Bless.
Thank You
