Debbie's gone to the dogs!
I'm running in the 2026 Tokyo Marathon to raise money for rescue dogs. I have partnered with Peace Winds Japan, an excellent non-profit that rescues dogs and trains them to be service animals through their Peace Wanco project. Many folks know me as an avid runner, and I love to put my talents to work for good causes. What you may not know is that I have a lifelong passion for animals, dogs in particular. As a social worker, I have seen the remarkable change that service dogs can bring to children and families' experiences. So, I am thrilled to support a charity that values animals and social support as much as I do.
I am trying to raise as much money as I can for this great charity and promise to run my heart out in Tokyo on March 1st, 2026. Any amount you can give to support this charity is going to make my spirit lighter and my feet faster. Thank you for supporting this worthy cause and being such a wonderful human for all the dogs and families in need.
A little more about me:
I’ve completed 5 of the 6 World Majors — New York, Chicago, Boston, Berlin, and London (where I earned my Boston Qualifier!). Now, I’m headed to Japan for my 6th and final star. Once I cross that finish line, I’ll receive the prestigious Six Star Finisher Medal — something I’ve dreamed of since I began this running journey.
Running has become such an important part of my life. It has taught me discipline, strength, resilience, and the power of community. The people I train with have become my running family — we’ve logged countless miles together, pushed through early mornings, tough workouts, and crossed finish lines side by side.
Again, any amount you can give to support this charity is going to make my spirit lighter and my feet faster. Thank you for supporting this worthy cause and being such a wonderful human for all the dogs and families in need.
