Hello!
My name is Adrianne and I made this for my mom, Debbie. She needs new lungs asap. She can get them, if we can move her out to Durham for a year or so. Before being accepted into the program she has to have $20k upfront.
Debbie grew up in Coram NY with her parents and 4 siblings. She met her husband at Pizza Hut where they both worked. Debbie got married and had me in 87/88. Her dad retired and when he decided to move to NC, all of his kids followed, including Debbie, with husband and baby. She had 2 more children, but in 2002 tragedy hit our family like a tsunami. My sister, Leanna was born June 1990. When she was 9 or 10 in 2000 she started breathing heavy after walking in from the bus. For 2 years her Dr treated her for asthma. The night before her next appt she passed out while filling a tub for a bath. She was flown to Greenville where she was diagnosed with primary pulmonary hypertension. She died a week later in Chapel Hill. Her little heart just couldn't do it anymore. We all were advised to be tested for it. My other sister and I were clear and we are supposed to be screened every few years. Genetic testing is around $3k a person. Would be great to get that done so we can stop the tests and stop worrying this disease is going to come for us or our kids. My moms tests came back that she also has the disease that took my sister. For years she's been on all different medications.
Debbie is one of the most loving people I know. She cares and has always strived to take care of others. Now it's our turn to take care of her and unfortunately I'm falling short on being able to finance her needs. Please give what you can, even if it's prayers. We need miracles, small and large.
