My mom Debbie is one of the greatest women I know. I know I'm biased, but I'm sure most of you would agree, she's the BEST! Most of you know my mom's story. For the ones that don't, sit back and find out what makes her the BEST!
In 2018, my family went to the casino for dinner and on the way home, my mom had a stroke. My sister and I drove her straight to the hospital, and they flew her to Marshfield, WI by chopper. She was released 4 days later, and on the 5th day, she had another stroke at home. After this one, it caused more damage. She was at the hospital and rehab for 3 months. In June of 2020, we found out my dad had congestive heart failure. We lost him 5 months later to the day. I moved in with my parents to help them 2 months before he passed. For a couple of years, we maintained. We lived. We loved, and we definitely cried. Then the doctor said my mom's heart valve was critical and needed to be replaced. As we were trying to wrap our heads around this news, going to appointments, making decisions, she developed a lump on her neck. We made an appointment immediately, and by the time we got to the doctor, the lump was the size of a cantaloupe and diagnosed with Lymphoma. So now, the heart issues were put on hold for a bunch of chemotherapy treatments. Fast forward to a month ago, my mom is CANCER FREE!!! But now we concentrate on her heart again. She has had her pre-op appointments, and her open-heart surgery is scheduled for April 29. My mom lives on a strict income. I live with her and take care of utilities and the extras. I buy most food since she only qualifies for $32.00 in food stamps. With this surgery coming up, I'd like to be able to see my mom smile and not worry about gas, hotels, or food. She is a huge, generous person, and I'd just like to have my mom home, happy, and healthy. If you can help in any way, please help. Please share this too. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
