Debbie is the sweetest, most kind-hearted person. She loves her town and the community within it. She will help anyone who needs it.
Right now, she is in her own fight. We are asking for anyone who can to send her a little help. That can be positive vibes, prayers, financial support, or to share this.
For about 5 weeks, she has been going in and out of the ER and medical offices trying to figure out what's wrong. She has been struggling to breathe, and her throat has been through a lot. They believed it was her asthma and thrush and prescribed things based on that. We learned on Sunday that while she may have had thrush at one point, that may not be the only thing she is facing.
She called an ambulance on Sunday morning and was taken into the ER, where they transferred her to the ICU. They tried to give her air, but her O2 stats were staying high, and she was still asking for more because she felt like she wasn't getting enough. We got to the hospital at 7 am and stayed until noon, where her levels looked good, but you could tell she was tired, and we wanted her to try to sleep. We got a call 20 minutes later saying she got way worse and they needed to put her on a machine with the possibility of intubation. With no positive movement on the breathing machine, they intubated at 5 pm Sunday. Monday came with new struggles, CT scans of her throat and lungs, and readings off the intubation machine showing she is struggling to ventilate the bad air. With all the results, they could see a mass in her vocal cords that they can't do anything for. The decision was made to life flight her to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. They have more intensive medical equipment, an ENT, and more options than our local hospital could provide.
The boys are all doing the best they can to surround her with love and be with her.
Right now, we are all banding together. She is going to have medical expenses, regular bills, and travel expenses for the kids. If you are able to help, we really appreciate it. If you are able to share this, we really appreciate it. And if you could keep Debbie in your thoughts and prayers, we would really appreciate it.
She is the most amazing woman, and the boys, their spouses, and all the grandkids are pushing through, hoping SHMC can give us some answers and a medical plan to help Debbie come back home.
