Anyone who knows Debbie Vilcinskas know she’s a fighter and one tough cookie. Nothing usually rattles her. She is a devoted wife and fierce mother of four. On August 3rd, 2021, Debbie got news that turned her world upside down. She initially went to the ER thinking she had a kidney stone only to learn she had a stage IV cancer. She was diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma, a rare and very aggressive form of cancer. This news has changed her and her family’s lives immediately and forever.

Intense chemotherapy has forced Debbie to quit her full-time insurance job leaving her unable to care for her family or return to work. Their health insurance does not cover the full cost of her treatment. Debbie’s family’s income has been cut in half and she and her husband are responsible for 35% of her medical bills which are mounting.

This cancer does not have the best odds but Debbie is determined to fight and give it her all. Despite the challenges ahead of her, Debbie has the most positive attitude and strongest will to live. The courage and strength she displays in facing this cancer would be an inspiration to anyone.
