My name is Michele Hiebert. I am raising funds for Debbie Patrias, the wife of my cousin Patrick. My cousin Patrick was diagnosed with prostate cancer on December 13, 2022, roughly 7 months after his father passed away from cancer. He fought a brave fight for the last four years through multiple rounds of radiation and chemo. The cancer got ahead of the treatments, and my cousin passed away on the evening of Monday, November 2, 2026, at age 53. Needless to say, all of the treatments, doctor appointments, and hospitalizations from my cousin's illness have created a sizable debt. Patrick had insurance but also had a large out-of-pocket cost that needed to be met each year. Debbie has exhausted all of her paid leave at work to attend Patrick's doctor appointments, care for him during his illness, and be there while he was home on hospice for these last couple weeks of his life. She is currently on unpaid leave as she plans his funeral and final arrangements. Patrick and Debbie have a 13-year-old daughter that Debbie now needs to care for on her own, in addition to dealing with the large amount of medical bills left behind from Patrick's care. Debbie is a strong woman who would never ask for anything, but she needs help now as she navigates life after the death of her husband, which is why I am asking for your help. All funds raised will help Debbie to pay for outstanding medical debt as well as rent and basic living expenses for her and her daughter.
