For those of you who know our family, you know that my mom, Deb Rogers, has been the rock of this crazy bunch. She is a devoted mother of 4, grandmother of 11, and great-grandmother of 9. She is a retired nurse and lives on a fixed income but has always made it work. This last month has been humbling for her. She is never the one to ask for help as she is a very independent woman, but she has reached a point where the help is needed, so she asked me to reach out to all of you. As independent as she is, she cannot do this journey alone; physically, financially, or spiritually.

Mom was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer. This process has escalated quickly, and she is being treated aggressively with both chemotherapy and radiation. Her treatments started this week, and medical bills are already rolling in as United Healthcare does not deem some of her treatments and medications as medically necessary, although without these, her prognosis left her with just months to live.

Mom is required to be at the hospital 5 days a week for treatments as well as various other appointments associated with her diagnosis. The cost associated with ensuring she is getting the life-saving care she needs is overwhelming.

As if all this was not enough stress for her, her A/C in her home quit cooling. She has a small window unit in her bedroom and living room currently, but it does not adequately cool her house. Again, living on a fixed income does not allow for all of these unexpected circumstances.

Our family is doing the best we can to help in all the various ways we can, but times are tough for many right now. More than anything, mom is needing prayers to get through this. She is remaining positive and leaning on God to guide her through this difficult time.

If anyone is able to assist her in raising the funds to cover these expenses, our family will forever be grateful. No donation is too small or expected. If you are unable to donate please keep her in your prayers.
