If you know my grandmother Deb Powers, then you know she is our unwavering rock. There at the drop of a hat if any one of us needed her. Host of every holiday. Keeper of the entire family. Never skips a beat.

A few months ago, our precious girl fell ill and was placed under a medically induced coma in an effort to stabilize her body. Only when the doctors attempted to remove her from the anesthetic, her body has had trouble fully waking up. Since then, she has been transferred to an intensive care unit in Savannah where she was placed on a ventilator and feeding tube with my grandfather by her side day in and day out.

While she has had a slow climb, she is a FIGHTER in every sense of the word and has made some notable progress over the last few weeks. We know the Lord has his hand in every step of her story. Not only do we ask for prayers for strength and healing, but we also ask for any insight, guidance, or potential avenues anyone can offer us. She currently has a capable medical staff surrounding her, but we are faced with many unknowns in terms of her situation. However, we know our God is a way maker!

I have set up a GoFundMe to assist my grandfather while he attempts to navigate this difficult time caring for his best friend. While we are so blessed to have a large family unit, neither my grandma nor my grandpa are retired yet and considering the long hours he devotes to her as well as accumulating medical bills, anything helps!
