Hello all, my name is Hannah Blaeuer, I am the daughter of Deann Brown. I am creating this GoFundMe on my moms behalf.

Dear family, friends, students past and present, and coworkers past and present of my mom Elizabeth, also known to many as “Deann",

As many of you know my mom has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Cancer throughout her body in the recent months. She has been through what feels like thousands of tests and blood draws to come up with the best treatment plan for her going forward. They are still finishing up testing but will start treatment soon. She is receiving some of the best care she can in Florida at Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa. The treatment will be aggressive as they need to fight hard and fast. Tampa is 2 hours away from where she currently resides and works. As many of you know cancer not only takes a toll on the body but it also takes toll on your finances and all other aspects of your life. I am starting this GoFundMe in hopes of alleviating some cost for my mom to travel back and forth from home to her treatments in Tampa over the course of 6 months but also hopefully alleviate some cost for her if needed elsewhere during this time of uncertainty.

Deann has been a passionate teacher, caring dean of students, an aspiring assistant principal, and now has the joys of leading Ocali Charter High School as their first ever principal. If you know her, you know that her passion is changing the lives of the kids that walk onto her campus everyday for the better and rescuing dogs... all of the dogs, maybe even some cats, who knows maybe one day a raccoon may show up and need a home. She also is passionate in protecting, teaching, and changing the laws of tomorrow to protect students, schools, and staff from school shootings. She is a founding member of the Principal Recovery Network (PRN) which is a group of former staff that have guided and offered support to schools and staffs following a school shooting on their campus. This team also advocates for national school safety improvements and violence prevention programs on a national level. She is the daughter, sister and mother in our family. She is the goofy dance and sing around the kitchen mom to me, she is the LSU fanatic and baby sister to her brother Chris, and she is the little dancing ballerina who is changing the education system to her mother Lana. She is guarded by the most perfectly precious angel, our Papa, Dean, and her lovely aunts, uncles and grandparents in heaven. She is surrounded by friends and coworkers (past and present) that continue to love and care for her and fill her every day life with joy and hope.

During this time, I just ask that you lift up my mom in prayer and keep her in your thoughts as she battles this monster of a disease. If you are able to donate, please see below but please do not feel obligated, we are just appreciative of the love and support she has already received and continues to receive in the short amount of time since the diagnosis.

In the days coming, I will try to update how she is doing as she navigates treatment on this page.
