Hello beautiful people,

As you may know, our beloved and exquisite Deanne Love has recently and sadly been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Deanne has touched the lives of countless people across the world, primarily through her decades of contribution to the global hooping community, but also through being a regular supporter and contributor to the arts and to community. From creating events, hosting podcasts, facilitating workshops and bringing joy in her myriad of ways.

Deanne is known for showing up, building community and injecting warmth into every space that she enters. At this incredibly challenging juncture, we would like to invite you to show your support to Deanne. Please know that support can look however feels right for you and all forms will be gladly received. We are absolutely aware that financial support isn't something that everyone can offer, but if you are able to donate, that would be gratefully accepted.

We have every confidence that Deanne is up to the challenge that awaits her because she is a person with a deep sense of self, a beautiful and strong spirit, and much love surrounding her…. but it's still going to be a bloody tough road!

The requirements of her treatment will immediately reduce or remove Deanne’s ability to work, which will greatly affect her capacity to cover her day-to-day living costs. On top of this, although many people may not realise, there are many out-of-pocket costs for cancer treatment in Australia, despite our (supposed) universal healthcare system. Coupled with this is Deanne’s new commitment to herself to give her body the best chance by eating as cleanly as she can. As we all know, a healthy diet is expensive, but it’s also crucial to reducing the fuel that feeds the tumors and addressing the build up of inflammation.

We’re looking to raise these funds which will go directly to supporting Deanne, for her to spend as she needs.
