Support Dean Valentine's Life-Changing Surgery

My name is Eric McDonald, and my fiancé, Dean Valentine was recently approved for a double mastectomy (top surgery) to treat gender dysphoria! We are both FTM transgender men, and I have already gone through the process for top surgery back in 2020. This is a huge step for Dean in his transition, and we want to make sure the process goes as smoothly as possible.

While the procedure was approved by our insurance and will be taking place only a week after his 27th birthday(!), it does not cover everything. We still have to pay some out-of-pocket medical bills, and our insurance will only reimburse us for a portion of our travel costs. Therefore, we still have a pretty big bill to foot.

Thankfully, Dean and I do have stable income and are able to afford this procedure out of pocket, but it does affect our savings. We are wanting to move cross-country to pursue bigger things in our lives and get out of Juneau for better life and education opportunities.

This procedure has been something he has put off for more pressing matters in his life and is finally able to do it. While, again, we are able to fund the process entirely on our own, we are seeking donations for anyone who would like to aid in such a life-changing procedure. We would appreciate any help, every single dollar matters.
