Help Support Dean Lassiter During His Medical Emergency
For many people in our community, Dean Lassiter is someone who has always been there when others needed him. Now, Dean and his family need our community to be there for them.
Dean, owner of Aussie Island Surf Shop, is much more than a local business owner. He is a friend, neighbor, and generous member of our community who is known for his kindness, giving spirit, and willingness to help others.
Through surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding, Dean has built connections and friendships that reach far beyond the walls of his shop. For years, he has supported these communities, encouraged others, and shared his passion with people of all ages. Whether through his business, the sports he loves, or simply as a friend, Dean has always been someone willing to lend a hand and show up when someone needs him.
In early July, Dean experienced a serious medical emergency that required emergency surgery. He was admitted to the hospital on July 8, and unfortunately, his recovery has been anything but easy. In late July, Dean suffered another significant setback.
Since July 8, Dean has been in the hospital, much of it in the ICU. It has been an incredibly difficult and uncertain journey for Dean and everyone who loves him.
As Dean continues to fight and recover, the financial impact of an extended hospitalization can quickly become overwhelming. In addition to medical expenses, there is the burden that comes from being unable to work and manage the day-to-day responsibilities of running a business and supporting a family.
This is our opportunity to give back to someone who has given so much to others.
We are asking friends, customers, fellow business owners, surfers, skateboarders, snowboarders, neighbors, and everyone whose life has been touched by Dean's generosity to rally around him.
Most importantly, we are asking for your prayers for Dean—for strength, healing, comfort, and continued progress in his recovery. Please also keep his family and loved ones in your prayers as they walk beside him through this incredibly difficult time.
For those who are able, donations will help Dean and his family with medical expenses and other financial needs that arise during his hospitalization and recovery. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will make a difference.
If you aren't able to donate, your prayers and sharing this fundraiser are just as meaningful. Please help us surround Dean and his family with the love, encouragement, and support of the community he has cared about for so many years.
Dean has always been the kind of person who shows up for others.
Now it's our turn to show up for Dean.
Thank you for your prayers, generosity, and support as we stand together behind Dean and his family.
