Support De Morgan Public Programme

Wilhelmina Stirling established the De Morgan Foundation 1965, to ensure that the public could enjoy and learn from her sister's paintings and brother-in-law's ceramics. As an independent charity, we rely on donations to uphold Wilhelmina's wishes and share the artworks with everyone, forever.

Just as she preserved it through her lifetime, it is our responsibility to care for it now, and ensure that you can enjoy the artworks whilst our museums are closed, and once we reopen.

This extraordinary collection is the only one in the world of a husband and wife's artistic partnership. It must be preserved.

Every donation goes towards the care of the collection, and our ongoing public and education programme, throughout the coronavirus museum closures, and once we can reopen.

Enjoy a 'thank you for your donation

For £60 donation you will receive a De Morgan magnet (choose William or Evelyn!)

For £100 donation I will make you a personalised introductory video of your favourite artwork

For £150 donation I will give you and a friend a tour of the De Morgan Gallery of your choice later this year when we reopen

For £500 donation you can join our Patrons' Circle (see below!)

For £1,000 donation you can 'adopt' a painting. Your name will be displayed on a plaque on the painting's frame whenever it is on display in 2020 and 2021.

The De Morgan Collection is full of surprises! Evelyn De  Morgan's paintings seem Pre-Raphaelite, but they are her feminist response to Spiritualism and war.

William De Morgan is best known as a potter, but did you know that he invented his own kilns and attended chemistry lectures in order to create beautiful lustre glazes?

The Foundation owns the largest collection in the world of opulent, jewellike paintings, and glistening ceramics and you can help us continue to share it once the pandemic is over.
