UPDATE: 12 May 2025
Dayton is still at Queens Medical Center receiving treatment for an infection and we are still waiting on what next steps will be as far as treatment. However, we did find out that there is a specialist here in Hawaii that is able to do the procedure he was hoping to have in San Diego, so he may be able to get that done in Honolulu. Once we know more, we will let you know. Thank you all again. We love you and are so grateful to have you in our lives.

Hello, my name is Tracy, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my boyfriend, Dayton - a man whose kindness and generosity have touched so many lives. If you know Dayton, you know he’s the first to lend a hand, offer support, or simply show up when someone is in need. Now, he’s facing the toughest challenge of his life, and he needs our help.
Recently, Dayton was diagnosed with peritoneal mesothelioma, a rare and aggressive cancer that affects the lining of the abdomen. This diagnosis has turned our world upside down. The recommended treatment is intensive and requires him to see a specialist in San Diego, offering the best hope for effective care and a chance at remission.
Before Dayton could even have his first telehealth appointment with the specialist, he experienced a sudden health setback - extreme dizziness, dangerously low blood pressure, and cold sweats. He was rushed to the emergency room and then flown by air ambulance to Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. We are now waiting for the next steps, hoping for the best possible outcome.
Why We Need Your Help
Even with insurance, the costs associated with a rare cancer diagnosis are overwhelming. Medical bills, travel expenses to San Diego / Honolulu, emergency transportation, and the ongoing cost of treatment are mounting quickly. Dayton has always given selflessly to others, and now we’re asking for your support to help him fight for his life.
How Your Donation Will Help
Your contribution will go directly toward:
- Medical bills and hospital stays
- Travel and lodging for treatment on the mainland
- Air ambulance and emergency care costs
- Ongoing treatments, medications, and supportive care
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in Dayton’s fight. If you are unable to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser with your network-your support in any form means the world to us.
Thank You
Dayton has always believed in the power of community, and we are so grateful for any help you can offer during this difficult time. Thank you for standing with us, for your prayers, your kindness, and your generosity.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Tracy and Dayton’s Ohana
