The Daytona Beach Concert Band has been given a remarkable and humbling invitation. Our community band has been invited to travel to Normandy to perform as part of the international commemoration of the D-Day landings in June 2027.
Our musicians have been asked to perform during official remembrance events and at the International Concert de Libération in the historic town of Sainte-Mère-Église, one of the first towns liberated on D-Day. These ceremonies honor the courage and sacrifice of the Allied soldiers who helped restore freedom to Europe.
For our volunteer musicians, this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent the Daytona Beach community while honoring the men and women who served our nation during World War II.
However, the cost of travel, lodging, and transportation to Normandy is approximately $4,500 per musician. As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) community band, we are working to raise funds so that our volunteer members can participate in this historic event without financial hardship. We are asking for the support of our community to help make this meaningful journey possible.
Your tax-deductible contribution will help support:
Travel and transportation for volunteer musicians
Participation in official D-Day commemorative ceremonies
Musical performances honoring our veterans and their legacy
Bring awareness to the Daytona Beach community.
Any contribution—large or small—will help us represent Daytona Beach and Volusia County on an international stage while paying tribute to those who fought for freedom.
If you would like to support this project, donations can be made to the Daytona Beach Concert Band, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Thank you for helping us share music, honor history, and represent our community at this important international commemoration.
