Support Dayna Thompson's Battle Against Breast Cancer

Donation protected
Hi everyone!

Dayna (Serbon) Thompson is currently in the fight of her life against Stage 3 Breast Cancer. Those of you who know Dayna, know she hates asking for help in any way so I created this GofundMe on her behalf. Stubborn to the core that one! That's why we love her though.

Dayna will be off work for at least 14 weeks for her treatments and mastectomy. The last thing her family needs to worry about is medical bills that will pile up during this time. Donations of any kind will help!

Below is her story and a link to an amazon wish list to help make things a tad easier while she kicks cancers ass!

I want to update my community
I was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Stage 3, Grade 4, on February 20, 2025.
This tumor is not grown by estrogen or progesterone hormones and is Her2 protein negative. The abnormal cells start in the milk ducts of the breast and then begin invading the surrounding tissue. The cancer cells in my case are considered very abnormal and aggressive, which means they spread quickly. In my case, the best treatment is considered chemotherapy.
Thankfully, my type of cancer is typically responsive to chemotherapy. There are a lot of scary things about chemo, not only the side effects we all know, like hair loss, nausea, fatigue, mouth sores, lymphedema, etc., but also neuropathy, bone pain, cognitive difficulties, and heart and lung damage, all of which can be permanent. Again, I'm taking it one day at a time.
My care team is excellent and has come up with a plan of attack;
I start chemo on Friday, March 21. I will do weekly chemo infusions on Fridays for 12 weeks, after which I will transition to “The Red Devil” chemo, this is considered one of the strongest drugs for cancer. This will be done once every two weeks until about the end of August. After this, I get a month of rest for my immune system to recover. If all goes well, I will have a double mastectomy and reconstruction six months later. This all to say, I have a long road ahead of me.
Everyone is asking me how I’m doing. I’m fine so far, I have a wonderful family and amazing friends rallying around me. Im I’m just trying to be positive, at this time that Is all I can do.
I’m trying to hold on to my normal life/routine as much as possible, of course, I have the normal worries of finances, the store, and my family. If things dont go as planned We are mostly prepared and I am taking it one day at a time.
I am trying to keep things as normal as possible for now, I typically don’t post my life on socials and for good reason.
Please refrain from calling or asking questions as I have posted all of the information I have above.
Prayers and well wishes are always welcome❤️
This isn’t easy to type, I wanted to Inform my community as it has been difficult to communicate with everyone we care about in a timely manner. On the other hand, I dont want to spend all day talking about it, it’s sad and I dont want like to continuously think and talk about it.
I will post updates for friends and family here as long as I am able ❤️.
