Our family is preparing for a difficult journey as our 11-year-old son, Daylon, who has Down syndrome, is about to undergo his second open heart surgery in May. This is an incredibly challenging time for us, both emotionally and financially, as we do everything we can to support Daylon and make sure he gets the care he needs.

The costs are overwhelming—between medical bills, child care for Daylon’s siblings, travel to another city for the surgery, lodging, food, and the time we’ll need to take away from work, it’s more than we can manage on our own.
