Dayla was diagnosed with ovarian cancer on December 24th, 2025. What initially felt like an impossible diagnosis later revealed itself to be an even more aggressive and devastating illness-extensive peritoneal carcinomatosis, which ultimately took her life far too soon.
Dayla was so much more than her diagnosis. She was warmth and light, kindness without conditions, and love in its purest form. Her heart was generous beyond measure, and she carried that generosity with her through every stage of her journey.
We are raising funds to help cover the costs of her funeral services and to honor the legacy she was so intentional about leaving behind. Any remaining funds will be placed into a savings account to help put her younger brother, Dylan, through college, with additional donations made to children’s cancer research.
When Dayla came to understand that she might not win this battle, she focused not on herself, but on others. She asked her husband to donate all of her beloved stuffed animals to children’s hospitals that specialize in childhood cancer and research, hoping they would bring comfort, smiles, and courage to kids who needed it most. She also requested that her savings be donated to support these same organizations.
Even in her final moments, Dayla’s thoughts were of giving, loving, and helping others. She lived with compassion, and she left this world the same way; selfless, thoughtful, and endlessly kind. Supporting this fund is a way to carry her love forward and ensure that her oh so beautiful spirit continues to make a difference.
