Support Daxton's (9 yrs old) Fight Against Brain Tumors

Donation protected

Our 9 year old son Daxton has reoccurring brain tumors. He had his first tumor when he was 3 years old. He had surgery and had it removed. We had several months where we thought everything was good but they came back this time to many and to small to operate on and they were in both his brain and spine and we had to start chemo treatments. We did chemo until oct 2022 when we got the call that the treatments had worked! We got a break where he got to be a kid for a while. Then in December 2023 we found out that the tumors were growing again and this time the scan showed 4 new growths. His most recent scan done 04/18/2024 showed that his tumors had grown from a 6.3 to a 7.5 so they want to change his treatment plan.

We live in Springfield IL but they have been sending us to the Childrens hospital in St Louis to work with their specialists there. They have approved him for a trial medication which is an oral medication but it is only offered through the st louis hospital which means all of his check ups and progress scans would have to be done out there on top of them wanting him to continue progress check ups here for him to remain qualified for the study medication

His dad is a school bus driver and I am disabled ( below the knee amputee ) and do not drive. This means his dad who is our main income has had to take off work for appointments and all of this plus what is coming has and will put a big strain on our finances. I tried to avoid having to go this route but setting up like a yard sale with my stock ( arts and crafts and other various items) to help out but it is all dependent on the weather which has not been in our favor this last two months. We have already used what we had in savings covering his treatments, travel for appointments and time off for appointments.

Thank you for reading this far. His dad and I both know how tight things are for every one right now. We can not even begin to say how much donations but also shares of our fundraiser as well as good thoughts and prayers for our sweet little boy mean. We thank you for the support and may blessings come back to you as needed.

If you have any questions I can be reached on FB under Marie Cozby ( icon is of Daxton and I in our ren faire costumes with my wheel chair) or you can email me.
