Dear Friends, Fellow Practitioners and Sangha,
We are reaching out on behalf of Dawn Scott, a dedicated Dharma teacher and practitioner who is embarking on a 14-month sabbatical of intensive practice and study beginning in October of 2026.
We are fundraising to support a portion of the cost of Dawn's housing, healthcare and other basic necessities over her 14 months of practice and welcome you to join us!
A Year of Growth and Deepening
Dawn’s sabbatical will center around ongoing silent and intensive self-retreat practice. She will also be embarking on study of the Majjhima Nikāya ("Collection of Middle-length Discourses") as well as Pali language learning.
Support for Dawn
Dawn is renting a small, secluded living space for 14 months which is specifically set up for extended self-retreat. Dawn is also recovering from a number of recent health challenges and the donations raised from this fundraiser will support her in managing her ongoing healthcare costs during this year+ period, as well as other basic needs.
By helping remove financial pressure during this 14 month sabbatical, we will support Dawn in being able to fully immerse herself in this rare and precious opportunity for deep practice and study which will undoubtedly benefit everyone who she serves in the Dharma going forward!
Dawn's Dharma Service
Those who know Dawn understand her deep commitment and service to the Dharma. Dawn’s integrity and passion for maintaining her own depth of practice and study— while supporting students across the country and Canada through her teaching— is an inspiration to so many of us.
As a teacher, Dawn has a remarkable capacity to create safe spaces for her students’ Dharma growth and learning. We now have an opportunity to give back as a community and create financial safety for Dawn to take a deep dive into this special and immersive period of Dharma growth and study!
Thank you so much for joining us in this effort to support Dawn!
With gratitude and metta,
