Hello! My name is Kellie and I am starting this go fund me to help my aunt Dawn and her family out during this difficult time. On January 9th Dawn was at work and was having difficulties with her speech. She was sent to the ER where a cat scan of her head showed a mass on the left temporal/parietal area. She spent 2 weeks in the hospital due to needing further testing and a biopsy. Fast forward to this Thursday where Dr Dowd from neurosurgery gave her the results of the biopsy. Glioblastoma, grade 4. While there is no cure, there are options to help with slowing down the growth of the tumor. She will be having another surgery to remove as much of the tumor as they can, then more biopsies, radiation and possibly chemotherapy. This all means more time out of work.

Dawn is the main caretaker for her entire family. She is the guardian of both her grandsons who are 16 and 11. She has been out of work since the 9th and has been without a pay check since. Tyler has also been out of work to take over the care of both his parents and the boys. Doctors appointments, errands, getting boys to school, cooking dinner, etc. They have applied for disability but it has taken weeks, due to denials and change in companies by the employer.

My Aunt Dawn is a proud, hardworking woman who would never ask anyone for help. She has always been the person to offer help to anyone for any reason, and expect nothing in return. Every once in a while the person that helps everyone, is the one that needs help. So i am asking for help in her place.

Thank you all so much for the donations and sharing this go fund me. I wanted to do a little update. Dawn will be having her surgery on Friday February 27th. We are not sure of the time as of yet. She is doing good otherwise. Frustrated with all the delays, and still has not received anything from short term disability so these donations mean the world to her and all of us! It takes one more thing off her plate while trying to navigate through this new way of life.

Yesterday 2/27/2026 Dawn had her surgery to remove as much of the tumor as they could. The surgery went excellent. Dr Dowd said they got most of it out but had to stop due to it being close to the area of her motor function. She is doing amazing postoperative. She has no new speech problems, and has not lost any of her strength. She is swollen and in pain of course, but that is to be expected. She is just amazing, and is already stating she will be “ back to work in no time!” She has already been moved out of ICU and will be home very soon. Thank you again for all your love and support.
